About Cricklade Sea School

Cricklade Sea School was started by John Barratt to provide quality RYA shorebased courses in an enjoyable training environment. We are able to be flexible in meeting our clients course requirements and aim to provide good individual attention by keeping course numbers small.

John is an RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore, RYA Shorebased Instructor, Marine Radio SRC Assessor and an enthusiastic trainer with over 20 years sailing and boating experience. Having started sailing on a windsurfer, John raced a Laser at Bowmoor Sailing Club for 10 years. He was also an Optimist instructor teaching 7-10 year olds how to sail. John started sailing yachts about 10 years ago and during that period he has cruised extensively on the south coast of the UK, the French coast and the Channel Islands. He has also chartered yachts in the Caribbean BVI's and Antigua and in the Mediterranean.

In addition to running Cricklade Sea School John teaches RYA courses in Adult Education and is available for freelance instructor assignments.
